TobaRolls Launch as Manitoba Lawsuit Heads to Court
When Jesse Lavoie purchased his first TobaRoll at Garden Variety in Winnipeg last week it marked a historic moment. For the first time ever, Canadians can now support a not-for-profit organization with their cannabis dollars.
“This is a very proud moment," Lavoie said. "I'm very happy that we were able to launch TobaRolls in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Now profit can start flowing to the charities we’ve chosen to support."
BC Cannabis Dispensaries: A Road Trip through Penticton, Osoyoos and Radium Hot SpringsChecking out dispensaries is one of my favorite ways to spend time. I love seeing how they stand out from the rest: their aesthetic, offerings, and customer service. When I headed out on my road trip last summer, I knew I wanted to check out as many dispensaries as possible. British Columbia is known for its bud so it’s no surprise that there was no shortage of options.

Space's LandracesWith its fishbone stems, widely spaced bracts and sprawling bud structure Chiang Mai is one of the most unique and rare cannabis strains ever grown in Canada. Space Sherpa, a medicinal grower under the ACMPR program and budding hobbyist breeder, hunted this and several other landrace genetics in the hopes of finding something unique to bring to Canada’s overcrowded legal market. Sherpa laughs that although the odds of him finding a revolutionary plant from landrace stock are low they are—encouragingly—not zero.

Manitoba mysteriously delays launch of TobaRollsLavoie’s team received emails when the delay first began stating it was due to “staffing issues and focusing on year end.” After those emails, Lavoie's team says they received a phone call from MBLL stating TobaRolls was taken "above the MBLL for review". To our knowledge this has never happened before.
TobaGrown launches first non-profit cannabis brand in CanadaCanada’s first non-profit cannabis product debuts in Manitoba this month, giving weed enthusiasts across Canada an actual reason to brag. TobaRolls by TobaGrown will be available in almost every retail pot shop across Manitoba beginning March 30th. Profits will first pay off TobaGrown’s legal bills as they fight the Progressive Conservative government’s ban on growing cannabis at home for recreational purposes. Once those bills are paid, profits will then flow to a variety of local and international charities.
