Sour Glue by Purplefarm Genetics
Sour Glue is a bright and balanced cultivar grown by PurpleFarm Genetics in Johnston, Ontario that brings both mind and body-numbing effects along with a unique and powerful mixture of classic aromas.
The bright green, almost yellow hues of Sour Diesel compete with the pale green and crystal-lined bracts of GG4’s genetics to produce a beautiful flower in Purplefarm’s chosen Sour Glue chemovar. At roughly 21% THC on the label, the hybrid-like effects were noticeable but kept the mind clear enough for any social or professional interaction. The word “glue” should be underlined though. The relaxing effects of this strain make it difficult to get out of your seat to do anything other than bust up another nug.
When it comes to aroma, few other strains on the market compare. The ultra sweet fuel funk of the Glue parent mixes with sour lime notes characteristic of the Sour Diesel genetics to produce one of the most pungent and gassy flowers available legally.
At about $50 through the Ontario Cannabis Store, this flower is a little overpriced. Similar and even superior quality can be found at lower prices. It’s great to see a smaller grower like Purplefarms get this kind of exposure but it would be even better if the average consumer could purchase this on a regular basis. Hopefully, the federal and provincial governments begin lowering excise and other taxes on cannabis to help with the pricing issues in the legal cannabis market.
Purplefarm proudly displays as much information as is reasonable to present on their website. You can view details about lineage, growing methods, laboratory testing and even post-harvest processing. For instance, terpenes on this batch of Sour Glue included beta-Caryophyllene (1.145%), d-Limonene (0.7%) and beta-Myrcene (0.481%). Nobody’s perfect but LPs who post COA’s publicly are close.
